Travel Guide: A Few Days in Denver

Travel Guide: A Few Days in Denver

Prior to this month, I’d only ever been to Denver via layovers, AKA never left the airport. Chris had to go for some work meetings a few weeks ago and we decided to make a mini trip out of it. Though it was only a few short days, we loved exploring around the city as much as possible and are already looking forward to another trip back.

Where to Stay

The Ramble Hotel - This hotel came by recommendation of one of Chris’s colleagues and I could not thank her enough. Of all the hotels we’ve ever stayed at, I think it’s safe to say this one tops them all.

The interior design is absolutely stunning and I appreciated every detail from the lobby to the bar to our incredible suite. Although their restaurant was still closed/scheduled to re-open in May, we had an amazing breakfast at their DC/AM coffee bar and also enjoyed the full bar each night we were there (more on Death & Co below).

In addition to their beautiful decor and outstanding bar, the service was top notch. They were so welcoming upon check in and extremely accommodating when we needed to request a late check out for our last day day. Not only that, but they brought the cutest teddy bear to our room after learning I was pregnant — I’ve never felt so cared for by a hotel before!

Places to Eat

Death & Co - The most gorgeous bar located inside of The Ramble Hotel. Their cocktail menu is out of this world (20+ pages) and their mocktails were pretty fabulous too. I got the non alcoholic New Territory and loved it!

Il Posto - Craving Italian? Come here for great service and even better dishes. I personally don’t think you can beat fresh made pasta so I got the pork ragu pappardelle, but the risotto Chris got was also killer.

Ocean Prime - Given that this was a work trip for Chris, we spent a night out going to dinner with one of his colleagues. This restaurant located in the Larimer Square is perfect for a night out of celebrating. You’ll find lots of fresh seafood, beautiful cuts of meat and of course Colorado lamb (if that’s your thing, which it is Chris’s).

Things to Do

Check out The Denver Central Market. This could have easily gone under “Where to Eat” because this food hall has options for everyone including BBQ, charcuterie, a juice bar and more. Whether you’re hungry and ready to eat or want to pick up snacks or a bite for later, take your time to walk around and explore. I snagged some local chocolates to bring back home.

Grab some coffee and check out the street art. We went to Lekker Coffee for breakfast and walked back to our hotel, stopping to take pictures of several walls on pretty much each block. There are so many cool murals in the RiNo neighborhood, and I learned they invite artists back yearly to change up the scene.

Head to Larimer Square. Although we didn’t have much time to spend here, I could tell there is plenty to see and to do in the area. This historic district is full of restaurants and shops to get lost in.

It was a quick 48-hour trip so we’ll definitely be back for more. With a little more time, I’d love to explore more trails and head out of town to check out the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. If you’ve been to Denver and have any suggestions, make sure to leave them in the comments below!
