Hi!

I'm Alison, a homeschooling mom, lifestyle blogger, yoga instructor, and Long Beach native sharing our family's adventures in Southern California.

This blog has grown right alongside me over the years. What started as a place to share my adventures in fitness, food, and travel has evolved into a space where I document our family's everyday moments from homeschooling and motherhood to family-friendly adventures, local Southern California guides, travel inspiration, and the little things that make this season of life so special.

Whether you're looking for homeschool encouragement, pregnancy and motherhood tips, the best parks and family activities, or ideas for your next getaway, I hope you find something here that inspires you and makes life just a little easier.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm so happy you're here!

Feel free to say hello or shoot me a note any time — I love connecting with fellow moms, homeschoolers, and adventure seekers :)

Hydration - The Best Thing You Can Do For Yourself

Hydration - The Best Thing You Can Do For Yourself

During the first few weeks back from St Thomas, I noticed my skin was uncontrollably dry. I'm talking scaly shins and ashy elbows galore -- embarrassing, I know. I first blamed it on the weather (the Central Coast being far less humid than the Caribbean) but then realized after applying lotion over and over again, what was really happening was that I was DEHYDRATED!

Now I've given myself the 'Resolution to Drink More Water' many times before (as I'm sure many of you have), but this year I'm determined to step my game up. I'm not sure what it is about tossing a few lemon slices into a mason jar (other fruit infusions are great too), but I've found that it keeps me drinking regularly and I'm constantly filling it up throughout the day.

Since having this dehydration revelation and consciously drinking more water each day, I have noticed an abundance of benefits on top of solving my dry skin problem.

Drinking plenty of water a day and staying hydrated can lead to clearer skin, increased brain function, more energy and overall better health. I don't know about you, but those are all things I'd like to have more of... So on that note, I'll down the rest of my 32oz jar and hope that you poured yourself one too, cheers!
