Hi!

I'm Alison, a yoga instructor, lifestyle blogger and Long Beach native, living in Southern California with my husband Chris and German Shepard, Zeus.

This blog has been a space to share my adventures in fitness, food, travel and more as I’ve lived in San Luis Obispo, San Francisco, and now Orange County. I hope that my posts help inspire you to live your happiest and healthiest life!

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to say hi over on my Contact page :)

3 Simple Ways to Live Healthier

3 Simple Ways to Live Healthier

1. Hydrate!

I can never stress it enough -- hydration is SO important! Your body is mostly made up of water and depends on it for survival. Water does everything from lubricating your joints to helping your cells perform their daily function. I know personally my skin clears up and feels much healthier when I am consistent with my water intake. See my hydration blog post for a few tips on how to stay on top of your water drinking game!

2. Take the stairs...

And walk whenever you can! Having a dog and moving to San Francisco have both increased the amount of walking I do in a day. Even if your lifestyle doesn't currently involve a dog (which I highly recommend!), when you have the time, it's nice to walk around and experience the neighborhoods and places surrounding you that you normally wouldn't pay attention to simply driving in a car. A quick 30 minute walk is an easy way to add some activity to your daily routine, whether its first thing in the morning, at lunch, or at the end of your day.

3. Choose happy

Physical activity isn't the only form of activity that's important. It is critical to exercise our minds as well -- and even more important to be mindful of how we exercise our minds. In a world where it can be so easy to be angry, upset, or depressed, choosing happiness and positivity is a great way to strengthen our minds and exercise that positive energy. This takes just as much practice as lifting weights or training for a race does!
