Hi!

I'm Alison, a homeschooling mom, lifestyle blogger, yoga instructor, and Long Beach native sharing our family's adventures in Southern California.

This blog has grown right alongside me over the years. What started as a place to share my adventures in fitness, food, and travel has evolved into a space where I document our family's everyday moments from homeschooling and motherhood to family-friendly adventures, local Southern California guides, travel inspiration, and the little things that make this season of life so special.

Whether you're looking for homeschool encouragement, pregnancy and motherhood tips, the best parks and family activities, or ideas for your next getaway, I hope you find something here that inspires you and makes life just a little easier.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm so happy you're here!

Feel free to say hello or shoot me a note any time — I love connecting with fellow moms, homeschoolers, and adventure seekers :)

We just celebrated my dad’s birthday over the weekend and if you’re looking for a fun birthday or holiday idea, I highly recommend renting a duffy.

Though I completely flubbed and booked for Rainbow Harbor instead of the bay, we had so much fun having lunch out on the water and taking the kids around to see the Queen Mary and Shoreline Village. Next time, I’ll definitely make sure I book for the bay so we can cruise around Naples and up and down the canals. You can check out London Boat Rentals or Anchors Away Rentals for the bay/Naples Canals (or if you want to do Rainbow Harbor, see Boat Rentals Long Beach).

With Valentines past and the month more than half way over, I’m looking forward to the next two months and prepping for all of our March and April activities (more birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers and Easter!).

Another week of sticking to the 5AM wakeups and while not every morning is the same routine, this last week I:

  • mixed in some light weights between my usual yoga videos,

  • found a Pilates video I really enjoyed and am going to incorporate more of,

  • hopped into the sauna and am also going to work on making more time for that (and possibly our cold plunge too?)

I also started The Power Pause on audiobook this week and am really enjoying it so far — will report back with any key takeaways once I’m done.
