We had an eventful past week - welcoming the arrival of our new niece, celebrating friends’ birthdays, and the regular weekly juggle of getting Callie to/from school, trying to get as much work done as possible, playing with Ford throughout the day, and prepping for the next weeks/month out. I also finished my last bit of Mother’s Day shopping, but if you’re in need of some last minute ideas, I’m sharing some perfect gifts with quick shipping below:
I’ve been changing up my early AM’s so while some mornings still involve a workout, sauna or journal, and some me time, other mornings are reserved for getting some solid chunks of work done with a nice cup of coffee (the key here is: I have to pick and choose how to spend my time each day before the kids get up). With that said, I’ve been taking more Pilates classes over the last few weeks and started taking it into my morning workouts too. Instead of the usual 20-30 minute yoga flow, I’ve been leaning more towards 15-20 minute mat workouts instead. A few of my recent favorites are by Move with Nicole.
I’ve also got a few home projects I’m hoping to complete soon, including an updated family gallery wall and a new closet system for more kid storage and organization, but since those aren’t quite ready yet, I figured I could give an update on my previously mentioned closet organization / closet clean out strategy for now. What started as a one-month idea turned into a three-month process, but I’m so glad I decided to do this. Now that I’ve gone through weeks of outfits and several loads of laundry, I can clearly see the pieces I’m no longer grabbing for — and as I suspected, they are mostly items that I once loved and for some reason am still hanging on to (whether its because I actually * think * I’ll wear them again, or because I’m secretly holding on to the past??), but know now that I just need to purge and get rid of.
If you’re anything like me and have a hard time letting go of clothes for whatever rhyme or reason, I strongly suggest trying this method out for a few weeks/months, to truly see what you’re wearing and grabbing for over and over (and what no longer belongs in your closet). If you try it out yourself, let me know how it goes — I hope its as helpful for you as it was for me!
