Hi!

I'm Alison, a homeschooling mom, lifestyle blogger, yoga instructor, and Long Beach native sharing our family's adventures in Southern California.

This blog has grown right alongside me over the years. What started as a place to share my adventures in fitness, food, and travel has evolved into a space where I document our family's everyday moments from homeschooling and motherhood to family-friendly adventures, local Southern California guides, travel inspiration, and the little things that make this season of life so special.

Whether you're looking for homeschool encouragement, pregnancy and motherhood tips, the best parks and family activities, or ideas for your next getaway, I hope you find something here that inspires you and makes life just a little easier.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm so happy you're here!

Feel free to say hello or shoot me a note any time — I love connecting with fellow moms, homeschoolers, and adventure seekers :)

I’ve definitely been on hiatus here, like for the better half of the last year (my last post was week 22 of 2025, oops...) which reminds me, I still need to finish the recap of our EPIC 2-week road trip camping adventure, but for now I’m back with a few updates and will hopefully be back to a weekly routine!

We made it through the holidays, though not without a bit of struggle. After returning home from a quick 48-hour trip to Vegas, I noticed a strange water sound coming from our dining room. Long story short, we discovered a leak which then turned out to be two separate leaks. We decided to go through insurance since this is actually the third leak we’ve dealt with since moving into our home, which essentially means everything is taking much longer than we hoped. In the meantime, we’re doing our best and figuring things out as we go like turning our garage into a makeshift kitchen and figuring out temporary storage in places we didn’t even know we had.

Here’s a current look at our kitchen as we get ready to move forward with new plumbing, cabinetry and basically an entire kitchen renovation at this point:

All that said, I’m grateful to have all of our family nearby. We’ve had lots of help from them and were still able to celebrate the holidays (though it was the most hectic season I’ve ever had that’s for sure). Speaking of the holidays, I couldn’t resist sharing some of my favorite gifts from this year:

As crazy as the start of 2026 has been, we’re looking at the silver lining of all this mess, and I’m excited to have a new kitchen to cook more in soon. One of my 2026 goals is to try more fun recipes so stay tuned!
