Hi!

I'm Alison, a homeschooling mom, lifestyle blogger, yoga instructor, and Long Beach native sharing our family's adventures in Southern California.

This blog has grown right alongside me over the years. What started as a place to share my adventures in fitness, food, and travel has evolved into a space where I document our family's everyday moments from homeschooling and motherhood to family-friendly adventures, local Southern California guides, travel inspiration, and the little things that make this season of life so special.

Whether you're looking for homeschool encouragement, pregnancy and motherhood tips, the best parks and family activities, or ideas for your next getaway, I hope you find something here that inspires you and makes life just a little easier.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm so happy you're here!

Feel free to say hello or shoot me a note any time — I love connecting with fellow moms, homeschoolers, and adventure seekers :)

Coming to you from a (still) gutted kitchen...

We’ve submitted our contractor estimates to insurance and are now waiting to see what they come back with. From there, we’ll push back to fight for whatever else we can get and then hopefully have a project started within the next week or so here (fingers crossed!).

While we’re in the waiting phase, I thought it’d be fun to share some of the process so far from demolition to showroom samples to design renderings:

Homeschool: Second Semester

Outside of the kitchen remodel, most of my attention has been back to homeschool as we finished our first semester and are starting the second half of the year. I can’t believe it’s all going by so fast!

After a bit of trial and error, I’ve found a few TK workbooks that I’m very happy with, so we’ll be working through the rest of those along with our subscription boxes, field trips, and a few other fun things I have planned for the rest of the year.

I’ve also been committed to my weekly yoga classes (shoutout Micaela at Class 46!) and getting back on my podcast/audiobook grind as well. Here are my latest listens:

Intentions for the Next 2 Weeks

Using the last bit of this post as a sort of journal/to-do list/place to write things down and get focused:

  • Work on Master Bath designs alongside kitchen remodel

  • Get Valentine’s Day ready!

  • Plan our next family trip

  • Continue to declutter and get the house organized… while this feels like a never-ending task, my current focus is the kids’ play room/classroom/bonus room
